Recording the template
With Video templates, you’re able to set up frequently used video copies and keep them all saved in Woodpecker.
Head to Templates at the top bar in the Woodpecker App. You’ll see two blocks with Email and Video templates.
If you already have email templates created but no video templates, you will see a button to record video in the page view and a bar with a counter of available video credits at the bottom.
After clicking on the “Record video,” a tutorial will show you step-by-step how to do so. If you haven’t given permission to use the microphone and camera on your web browser, please do so in your settings.
Before starting the recording, you have to choose a background for your video. It can be:
The prospect’s website – the link is taken from the .CSV file of a prospects’ list,
Your website.
When you fail to grant permissions to at least one of these tools, a corresponding message will be visible. The message will be modified depending on whether you granted access to the camera only, to the microphone only, or not granted access to both tools.
The recording window also has a place for notes – you can use it for the reading script or a short video agenda. This prompter can be opened and hidden by clicking the “notes” link above the window. When you enter something, close the prompt, and then open it again, your note will still be saved in its initial position. Ultimately, if you fully close the recording window, the saved content in the notes will be lost.
A countdown to the recording will begin once you click the “START RECORDING” button. The maximum possible recording time is 5 minutes. During recording, a timer will be visible - when there are only 30 seconds left, a relevant message will appear under the timer, where the time should decrease as the 30 seconds pass.
After recording, you can watch the video and decide between saving it and generating a template, re-recording, or deleting it.
When you save the template, the system will start the process of verifying a snippet used in the video. If it’s successful, you can watch the sample video and start adding prospects in order to generate personalized videos for them.
