Tokens for Google mailboxes after 3 June 2024 will be valid for 6 months; if external services, such as Woodpecker, use your account daily, it is advisable to renew the token before this time to keep your Google account connected.
In this article, you’ll learn how to reconnect your Google account, even if there’s no issue with it. Specifically if you connected it automatically to Woodpecker (via OAuth). You can do this to reset the connection and, therefore, the token's lifespan.
Head to your account’s settings and then to the Accounts tab. Click on the email account you wish to reconnect.
In the General settings tab, scroll down to find the “edit” link next to the Configurations section.
When you click the link, the “Edit connection settings” tab will open with the “Reconnect your email account” button under SMTP Server data. There’s no need to edit anything in the IMAP Server data part.
Once you click the button, proceed as you would normally when connecting your Google account to Woodpecker. Choose the correct email from the list, and allow Woodpecker access to the Google account.
Once it’s connected, you can see the configuration details back in Woodpecker and click on the “Continue” button to finish the reconnecting process.
If successful, you’ll see the window with such information. And that’s it! The Google account is reconnected, and its token lifespan is refreshed.
