With email service providers tightening sending limits, running cold email campaigns with only one email account is not enough. The best approach is to have a few domains with a few email accounts on them so that you gain better deliverability and safety of your domains.
Woodpecker has the Inbox Rotation feature to help you rotate your email addresses in the campaign if you have already bought them, properly warmed them up, and want to put them to good use. If you don’t have more domains and mailboxes yet, you can buy them directly from the app settings.
Each domain costs $3, and one email account costs $4. Since at least one email address must be created for each domain, the final cost per domain and mailbox is $7.
Domains feature is available for premium accounts only.
Buying domains in Woodpecker
Head to your account settings page and click on the “Domains” tab and click on the “Get Domains & Email accounts” button.
Firstly, enter the domain names, one per line. Type in the full domain name, i.e. “mydomain.com”, as our system does not automatically match the TLDs to the domain name as of now.
There's also a case of which TLDs are good to go and easy to buy automatically, and which are not – a list of them can be found here.
Afterwards, click the “Check available domains” button to see if they are available. You’ll be able to preview all domains before deciding to purchase them. The subtotal amount for all of them will be displayed at the bottom of the window.
The next step is to fill in the details as a domain owner. Everything here is necessary, apart from Company name and redirect URL. We suggest adding the default redirect domain to help your clients find you using any domain for your emails.
After setting up the domains, you can now add email accounts to them. Each domain needs at least one email account created. Enter your sender's first and last name and your desired email name. Click the “Add emails” button, and a list of all email addresses for each domain will appear on the right side.
Once all is set up, go to the summary, and you’ll see a preview of all domains and email accounts across domains created. In the billing summary, domains and email accounts are broken down separately so that you know exactly how much you are paying for what.
All created domains and email accounts can be found under the “Domains” tab in your account settings. The email accounts ordered in the process, if not already visible in the “Accounts” -> “Added” tab, can be found in the “Pending” tab.
These domains and email accounts can be only used in Woodpecker, and it’s not possible to log into them separately. You won't have access to their DNS settings, but you can be sure that SPF and DKIM records are already set up for them.
Deleting domains
If you wish to remove some domains from your Woodpecker account, please contact our Support Team.
When you remove the domain and wish to use it again later, you won’t be able to do that for at least one year and a half since the day it was deleted.
Keep in mind that the email account will then no longer exist, so any potential replies from your prospects won’t reach you.
Domain settings in Woodpecker
After purchasing the domain and email address in Woodpecker, you can set up a forwarding email address in the account settings. Fill in the field with the address you wish for replies to go to, and save the changes after doing so.
FAQ
Q.: How much will I pay if I buy a domain in the middle of my billing cycle?
The price is then calculated proportionally, so you will pay half the price for both domains and email accounts. If you buy it on another day of the cycle, such as at the end, you will also pay a pro-rated price.
The full price will then be charged from the new billing cycle.
Q.: If I'm on the annual plan, how am I billed for domains and email accounts?
You will be paying the price for a single domain and email address multiplied by 12 months so for the whole year in advance.
Q.: Can I use warm-up for those email accounts?
Yes, you can activate our warm-up feature for your freshly created email accounts.
Q.: Will I be able to see these email accounts in Woodpecker Inbox?
The mailboxes on the Cold Email account and Agency HQ can only be seen in the Inbox tab by the person who connected them.
On an Agency Client account, the mailboxes in the Inbox tab will be visible to everyone.
Since these domains and email accounts are only available in Woodpecker, access to the inbox is only through the WP app.
